Dear colleagues!

I, Tetyana Tytska, President of the National Union of Artists of Metal Arts, urge you not to stay away from the situation resulting from the attack of the Russian Federation on Ukraine, in order to seize power and destroy the territorial integrity of our country. This is not a local conflict, as this war has already changed the world, and it depends on your support whether we can stop the bloodshed and death on our land and the development of this conflict.

Briefly about the situation: Russian President Vladimir Putin launched what he called “a special military operation” against Ukraine on Feb. 24, de facto declaring war on the country. Putin claimed to have “no ill intentions towards neighboring countries” and denied firing missiles on civil infrastructure during what he called a campaign to “disarm and de-Nazify” Ukraine. Meanwhile, Russian troops have shelled civilians in residential areas, burned houses, schools, and kindergartens all over Ukraine.

Ten days after Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine began, hundreds of Ukrainians are dead, thousands are injured, and over a million are displaced. 65 settlements were destroyed, including Kharkiv, Bucha, Irpin, Gostomel. Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant captured by Russian occupiers. More than 100,000 infrastructure facilities were destroyed by air strikes and bombing. More than 800 civilians and 48 children died. Russian troops are shelling residential areas, humanitarian corridors. International legal standards of humane treatment during the war declared in the Geneva Convention every day. More than 1,000,000 refugees have already crossed the border and are fleeing the war to EU countries.

Summarizing all the above, I would like to address you with a collective appeal on behalf of the blacksmiths of all Ukraine! We need your help! We are looking for those who are ready to provide any possible assistance!

I appeal to you not to stay away from this conflict:

1) Disseminate information, write a letter, publish a post, record a video message. It is very important that our needs are heard in all parts of the world, and to influence the authorities. You can find more information here: https://supportukrainenow.org/post-on-social-media.

2) Write if you can host a blacksmith family. The most important thing for guys from Ukraine is to know that their loved ones are safe. Write from which city you are, how many people you can take, for how long. Write to us by email nyofama@gmail.com ; send message on Facebook to Tytsʹka Tetyana https://www.facebook.com/TytskaTT/ ; call +48 574 063 055. We are confident that the world community is ready to accept refugees from Ukraine. And thanks to your hospitality, we will be able to protect children and women from emotional stress, mental trauma, and prevent the threat to life and health.

3) If you have a car or responsible friends who can pick up people from the border, or quickly bring humanitarian aid from EU countries - indicate what logistical mission you can perform. Use the contacts above to communicate. Also indicate the city and country in which you live and how far you are willing to go.

4) Financial charitable assistance. If you can donate money to buy equipment, metal, consumables. Every day we produce thousands of units of products for the defense of the country. And each contribution will help us increase our capacity. We also purchase the necessary equipment, provide assistance to blacksmiths who find themselves in a difficult situation. This fund will help us solve problems more flexibly and respond to challenges quickly.

6) Hire Ukrainians. Many Ukrainians have lost their jobs because of war. They will have to find a job abroad and work remotely or receive a visa sponsorship (in particular countries) and relocate. If your company offers any of these opportunities, you can add them to the following resources for wider outreach. More information: https://supportukrainenow.org/hire-ukrainians

8) Assistance in setting up headquarters in the EU. Due to the military situation in Ukraine, to carry out its operational activities and effectively coordinate the work of the blacksmith community is an extremely difficult task. Now we are looking for an opportunity to create a temporary shelter for our organization in the EU, for the organization of humanitarian aid to Ukraine, coordination and development of relations with the international community, and establishing relations with cultural figures. If you can assist us in this, write to us and we will contact you about this.

Sincerely,
Tetyana Tytska, President NGO "National Union of Artists of Artistic Metal"
