Treff with Becky Schimpff and Christmas break

A great presentation by Becky Schimpff from California (CBA-Californian Blacksmith Association).

Followed by 13 participants with 7 nationalities. That's what you can call it blacksmiths without borders.

She took us through one of her own proven techniques how to forge square corners. When making a square corner, it is important that you start for a 90° angle at about 100°-110 °. For obtuse angles this is not necessary and you can just aim for the angle you ar going for.

The participants were very involved, resulting in an interesting round of questions and discussion with even more instructive tips. An example: To determine the position of the angle, measure across the central axis and add half the material thickness to that measurement.

We thank Becky for the effort taken.

Christmas break

The organizing team is going on Christmas break, so this lecture was the last one for this year. The next Treff will be held in January 2022. Information will follow via the newsletter and the website.
We hope to see you all back in good health and wish you in advance a merry Christmas and a prosperous 2022.
