Forging crosses and the #With_Love_To_Ukraine project by Serhii Polubotko and Paul Vos.
This time, no technical story, but an explanation about the international exhibition #with_love_to_ukraine
Serhii begins by emphatically thanking everyone who supports the campaign and has contributed by making and donating crosses and organizing exhibitions.
The campaign means a lot to him, the blacksmithing community, and most of all, to Ukraine.
Serhii then talks about his early years and how he became involved in the Christian faith. Note that in the Soviet Union at the time, everyone had to be an atheist.
Through the church, Serhii was subsequently able to forge many crosses for churches, two of which stand out: a cross for the Greek Catholic Church and a cross for a gas and oil company. The latter has a remarkable shape as a drilling tower with a glass core filled with crude oil.
Serhii then explains the origins of the exhibition #with_love_to_ukraine and what the cross means to him. The cross means for Serhii the main coordinate for humanity.
From beginning to end were 10 very engaged listeners from 7 countries with whom experiences were shared and questions answered.
Thanks to our cooperation with ABANA we will be publishing the recording of this Treff in not too far future.
Blacksmiths can still make crosses for this campaign and deliver them via BWB. Send us an email and we'll arrange transport.
