Inspirierender Treff am letzten Montag, dem 23. August - Inspiring Treff last Monday 23th of August.

Wilfried Roosen, Schmied / Schlosser aus Belgien nahm uns mit in seine Welt des Biegens von schwerem Flachmaterial für Tore und Handläufe.

Es war faszinierend zu sehen, wie er eine Reihe von Lösungen erarbeitet hat, um Material mit großen Querschnitten formstabil und dicht zu Biegen. Er kann eine perfekt kontrollierte Biegung in das Material bringen, die am Ende ein ästhetisches Resultat erbringt. Hier sind ebenso gute Vorbereitung, „Trockenübungen“ und Konzentration der Schlüssel zum Erfolg.

Es waren 13 Teilnehmer anwesend, was in einer interessanten Fragerunde mit noch mehr lehrreichen Tipps resultierte.

Der nächste Treff wird am 20.09.2021 von John Dittmeier aus den USA, und ebenso Mitglied des Vorstandes von ABANA „Artist Blacksmiths Association of North America“, gehalten werden.

Wilfried Roosen, blacksmith / metalworker from Belgium took us into his world of bending heavy sheet metal for gates and handrails.

It is fascinating to see how he found a number of practical-technical solutions to bend the heavy material in a dimensionally stable and tight manner. He can make the perfect controlled material bending which in the end situation gives an aesthetic result that sounds like a bell. And also here are good preparation, 'cold' practice and concentration the keys to success.

There were 13 participants resulting in an interesting round of questions and discussion with even more instructive tips.

The next Treff will be held on 20.09.2021 by John Dittmeier from the USA and member of the board of directors of ABANA ,Artist Blacksmith’s  Association of North America.
