Invitation Blacksmith - Connect
Dear colleague,
Blacksmiths Without Borders organizes an annual event. In the weekend of August 20 to August 21, we are organizing the online meeting:
Blacksmith - Connect
Our goal is to allow blacksmiths from all over the world in the different time zones to participate and connect together. Blacksmith - Connect.
We do this of course with the unique possibilities that the internet gives us. We have good experiences with „Forging Through Time“ and the monthly „Treff“ which makes us confident that things will work fine.
The idea is to draw worldwide attention to all kinds of initiatives and projects with which the blacksmiths support their local projects or international charities. And we want to give smiths the possibility to exchange their experiences supporting others.
The Blacksmits Without Borders team facilitates this online event for both days and each blacksmith / organization is invited to present his / her / their project for 45 minutes. After that there is about 15 minutes for the exchange of questions, knowledge and experiences.
During the whole event, blacksmiths are invited to work on their supporting projects. It would be great if somewhere could be placed a camera or cellphone sharing your action via the Zoom-Channel of the event.
We are planning at least 10 timeslots, but of course we will adjust according to the offer.
The event kicks off at 10:00 UTC+2 TIME on August 20 with a short introduction. After that, the forge/channels will be open for anyone to collaborate on the project.
You can dial in via Zoom. This can easily be done with a mobile phone or computer. More information about this will follow.
To participate, please send an e-mail to blacksmithswithoutborders@gmail.com. The e-mail should include:
- Your Name
- The name of your association if there is
- The country and timezone you will in be during the event
- If you organize a local event at which time and where so we can publish it
- If you want to give a presentation tell us who presents about which project
The Blacksmiths Without Borders Team is looking forward to working with blacksmiths from all over the world.
